Northern Lights Matte Paste

$ 19

Northern Lights has come to be the "Big Dog" here at Shear Revival. It was our first step into matte finish products & has come to be an absolute fan favorite that speaks for itself. Northern Lights features an all natural Citrus & Sage scent and is available in a 3.4oz/96g or 1oz/28g amber glass jar.

Apply small scoops of Northern Lights in dry or towel-dried hair. Northern Lights can also be used as a prestyler by applying to damp hair, then blowdrying to set your style. The product stays malleable all day and washes out 100% with shampoo.

Nearly ideal! Great for texture!!

I would say hold feels firm in my hair. Sweet scent gourmand-like. Decent grip restyles easily. Matte finish. It's a bit on the dry side, so slight dampness in the hair should make it easier to apply. If it were a bit less dry and a bit more hold, it would be unstoppable!!!

Touchable soft with hold but hard to style

Overall I like this product much better than I thought after using it the first time. I have medium to short thick wavy hair and currently style as a comb over. I typically prefer a clean put together like I was getting with a pomade but they are too shiny and are hard to style once my hair starts growing out too much. Also pomades had kind of a crispy feel that was hard to fix during the day if need be. I love that this product allows me to run my hands through my hair during the day and do little touch ups like that. It does a decent job keeping hair off my forehead which I hate. It is rather difficult to work in though. Most reviewers online say to do it with dry or almost dry hair and doing so with this has a lot of tug and pull which makes that difficult. I feel like it's difficult for me right now to style it to look clean and neat. My hair is due for a haircut soon I've found that styling my hair with this while damp can make it even harder to get a clean look. I've found that getting it close and then running my hands through it later seems to help it sit better. It's a bit messier but still put together and I really like it. It does a good job keeping my hair in one general direction without too many fly aways or frizz. I would recommend you try this product, just know it's tough to work in your hair dry and may not look as clean and put together. But maybe my last hair cut wasn't great either. Worth a try.

Pretty good

First time trying the shear revival products and wasn’t disappointed. The scent is practically lemons with a hint of citrus, not bad but little tangy for me. Going to try the Gray Ghost next for a better hold and possibly a better scent.

All in all, I would recommend.

I've tried many hair stylers to accommodate my hair and nothing comes close to Northern Lights. It's not too thick, not to hard remove from the jar, and goes on my hair without too much trouble. Plus, the hold is the best I've tried. It's firm but not hard and allows for near effortless restyling. If I could have one hair product for the rest of my life, no question, it would be Northern Lights.
