I never gave natural deodorants a second thought as I thought they weren't needed and probably didn't work. I was gifted one of these and decided to give it a try. Man, was I susprised to find that it held up even through busy days and workouts. No detectable smell at all! That being said, it did leave residue on my shirts (which washed off no problem), as well as being a bit difficult to apply and also the stick broke a few times. But those are all minor setbacks in my opinion, it works very well and, is probably healthier too. If you're like me and think those two things are the most important ones, by all means get this.
Tried many other brands (Native, Dove, Arm and Hammer), and after being satisfied with shear revival's hair products I figured I should actually try this out, and it's honestly pretty great. The cedar scent actually lasts an entire day and smells great and fresh, if not a little too strong when first applied if you're also using other scented products, but two things need to be improved. The first is it's pretty coarse and dry (especially after the first few weeks) and the stick itself is just a 1-inch diameter circle, making it quite hard to apply, and I always end up with hairs pulled out. The second is that, while the cardboard packaging is nice, it wears somewhat easily and the lower cylinder attached to the stick has come off after a couple weeks as I guess the glue that held it together was pretty weak. Still going to continue using it as it's the best natural deodorant I've found, but these issues set it back from being an easy recommendation.
This deodorant has a very nice scent, but I think SR could do a better job on the packaging and application. The first thing to note is that the stick needs to be pushed up but that cannot be controlled precisely, and the only way to reset it is by capping the entire stick and start over.
The second, and perhaps more important thing is that the deodorant is quite hard and its shape isn't exactly ideal for underarm application. Applications feel rough and sometimes painful, as I lose a good amount of hair with every swipe (ouch).
I see good potential in this product, as I would rather pay for this than Axe or Old Spice. That being said, I really do think there are lots of room for improvements and I hope SR can get to them.
Every other natural deodorant has irritated my skin but this doesnt
I bought Ora a long time ago and it didn’t really work well for me. I recently decided to give it a chance again and I’m glad I did! I live in a desert climate. This holds up very well throughout the day! Smells great, performs great! Will be purchasing again!
